Ciara Elle Bryant is a multidisciplinary artist using photography, video, and installation to explore Black culture in the new millennium.

Bryant’s art and curatorial practices center around documenting and preserving the Black experience. Her recent solo exhibitions at RO2 Gallery, the Nasher Sculpture Center, and ex ovo/ Sweet Pass Sculpture Park, featured an ongoing installation project Server. Server is an installation of Bryant’s data archive, featuring imagery and audio familiar to her personal Black experience.

Bryant received their MFA from Southern Methodist University in 2020 after graduating with a BA in Art and Performance from The University of Texas at Dallas in 2016.

In Server: Checks on the Block, the artist Ciara Elle Bryant takes a deep dive into sneaker-wearing as a contribution from Black culture as well as a look at where Nike Air Force 1’s exist in the present day. The installation features a replica wall of all white boxes and piles of used, worn, dirty, and fresh pairs of Forces, which provide a space for a celebration of culture to happen. Server: Checks on the Block, intentionally takes up space, and is a visual bibliography of the impact of Blackness in the world of art and streetwear.
